Accreditation and certification by the leading TUV Nord for quality is a testimony to the quality management systems at A’Saffa Foods. It has also been awarded quality certifications such as HACCP certification for food quality and hygiene systems, ISO 9001:2000 for total quality management systems and ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management systems.
The HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
ISO 9001:2000 for total quality management systems specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
Lastly, ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management systems, it specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspects. It applies to those environmental aspects that the organization identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence.

These standards cover a wide range of concerns, from feeding requirements to the amount of space each bird must be given, and are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of birds throughout their lives.
A’Saffa chickens are processed at the company’s state-of-the-art plant. The brand follows strict Islamic Sharia (Halal) procedures. Chilled chicken products are made available to the consumers within the shortest period of time. The frozen products also reach the outlets within a week of production thereby retaining their freshness, taste and flavour.
“As with our core principles of following religious, healthy and ethical practices, the company prohibits use of chicken and animal byproducts and substitutes for feeding the birds as happen in some other poultry companies,” said Head of Sales and Marketing, Sidhartha Lenka.
He explained that A’Saffa also has a highly trained on site medical team at the Thumrait farms complex who monitor the health of the chickens daily to ensure they are kept free from disease, have the right balance of feed and water and ensuring the final product to the consumer is always safe and pure chicken meat.
